The tiny three-wheeled 'Ape' vans of Italy - their name is the Italian for 'Bee' - are ideal for buzzing up and down tiny medieval streets unsuited to more modern vehicles. This little van also makes an appearance in my linocut of a quintessential Italian city gate, 'Il Fosso'.
